The Canadian Criminal Justice Association (CCJA) is seeking members interested in joining its
Event Planning & Networking Standing Committee. The Committee supports planning and
coordination for CCJA events, including Congress, public education events, promotional
activities, fundraisers, networking opportunities, and other events identified by the CCJA Board.
Committee members help ensure CCJA events align with the Association’s goals, maximize
engagement, remain within available resources, and support accessibility, inclusion, and equity
in event practices and environments.

Member Role and Responsibilities

Members will contribute to event planning, logistics, marketing and promotion, public
engagement, partner coordination, and post-event feedback or evaluation.
The Committee meets at least six times per year, or more often as needed based on events
being planned. The first meeting is anticipated to take place on September 28 th at 7pm AST
(730pm NDT; 6pm EDT; 5pm CDT; 4pm MDT/CST; 3pm PDT).

How to Express Interest

Interested CCJA members are invited to submit a brief expression of interest (~150 words) by
outlining their interest and any relevant experience or areas of interest related to event planning,
networking, public engagement, or ensuring accessibility, inclusion, equity. Please also include
the town and province you live in and the organization you work for and your position (if
relevant).
