CCJA Membership Categories and Benefits






CATEGORIES A and B

Individual member may subscribe to either category A or category B membership.

Category B member receives the Canadian Journal of Criminology and Criminal Justice in addition to the other benefits.

Agencies may subscribe to category B or category Patron.

A member may submit topics for study or action and may consider policy questions when members are polled for expression of views. Obligations of individual members are to actively promote the basic purpose of the Association and to pay the membership fee. The obligations of the Association to members are to provide copies of the Association's position statements and the Association's Annual Report, and to inform the members of the Association's current activities.


CATEGORY “STUDENT”

A student must produce a copy of his/her student card to benefit from the category rate.

A member may submit topics for study or action and may consider policy questions when members are polled for expression of views. Obligations of student members are to actively promote the basic purpose of the Association and to pay the membership fee.

The obligations of the Association to the student members are to provide copies of the Association's position statements and the Association's Annual Report, and to inform the members of the Association's current activities.


CATEGORY “PATRON”

This category is offered to those who wish to express special support to the Association.

The benefits pertaining to that category are the same as those offered in Category B, the only difference being that the Patron members are acknowledged for the special contribution and may, from time to time, receive special recognition in the context of events such as our biennial congress or other functions of similar nature.


CATEGORY “CORPORATE”

Corporate members consist of corporations, partnerships and generally all other legal entities other than Individual members (categories A, B) and Patron.

Each Corporate member shall have the right to designate two (2) representatives, each of whom shall acquire all the rights and benefits of a category B member.
